TOKYO — Actor Fumi Nikaido, 30, and Kazlaser, 41, from the comedy duo “Maple Chogoukin,” announced via their respective official websites and other media Aug. 10 that they had married.
In a message on X (formerly Twitter), Kazlaser stated, “We, Kazlaser and Fumi Nikaido, would like to announce that we have registered our marriage.” He added, “Given that both of us have strong personalities and particularities, there may be times when we clash or times when we feel down, but we hope to build a relaxed and cheerful household where we can ultimately smile and look forward.” He also expressed gratitude, saying, “We sincerely thank everyone who has been involved with us so far.”
Nikaido’s agency also released a statement from the actor on her official website, which stated, “I will continue my activities as before, so I’d like to ask for your continued warm support. As this is a private matter, I would appreciate your understanding in refraining from interviewing family and other such activities.”
Nikaido has appeared in NHK’s morning drama “Yell,” the drama series “Eye Love You,” and the “Fly Me to the Saitama” movie series. Kazlaser continues to appear on television as the host of the variety show “Kazlaser to Manabu” (Learning with Kazlaser) and as a panelist on quiz shows.
